Polaď Prahu Attracts Hundreds of Visitors

24. September 2018

If you have been thinking about buying a bike to get around the city or would like to choose a different way of travelling around Prague than by car, then Car Free Day, an event that took place as part of European Mobility Week, was the place to be.

Everyone who attended could try out electro bikes or find out how best to combine different kinds of transport to get to where they are going – be it to work or fun – comfortably and quickly. And we were there.

The weather on Saturday was great and helped to attract several thousand visitors to the Prague neighbourhood of Karlín. For a day, Křižíkova street became a place to relax, have fun and learn about sustainable transport. There were dozens of exhibitors with stands reflecting the topic Mix and Move.

Polaď Prahu could of course not be absent from such an event, especially because the Sustainable Mobility Plan for Prague and Its Suburbs is a concept for the development of transport until 2030 with an emphasis on sustainability. We had a lot of interesting information at our stand about the Mobility Plan. Everyone could take a look at problem areas for car, public and bike transport. We were surprised at how well aware visitors were about these problems. With the help of the interactive game Create Your Own Mobility Plan, everyone could specify their personal preferences for implementing transport improvement measures.

The appended photographs show what it looked like in Karlín. In our opinion it was a great day, and we are pleased to have had the chance to meet with you in person. We would like to thank all of you for coming out and look forward seeing you, hopefully, next year.
